The City of Miles has Police services available at all times. The Preston
Police Department began a contracted agreement to serve the Preston, Miles and Spragueville areas over 10 years ago. The contracted patrol for Miles is 80 hours per month. When Preston Police Department is not on duty the Jackson County Sheriff's Office is the Law Enforcement agency that covers all incidents in Miles.
The PD averages 90 calls for service each month. Those calls for service vary from month to month. Some of the most common call types are traffic stops, motor vehicle accidents, public intoxication, domestic disturbances, theft complaints, drug cases, and assisting with medical calls.
