The City of Miles has emergency medical services available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. This service is made possible by the Preston-Miles Community Ambulance Service. The ambulance service was started in 1976 by a group of concerned community members who saw a great need for prompt emergency medical services in the Preston, Miles, Spragueville and Goose Lake communities. The service is a private, non-profit organization.
The Community Ambulance Service operates with three ambulances. Two ambulances are stationed in the City of Preston and the other is stationed at City Hall in Miles. This service would not be possible without the dedicated volunteers in our communities and their commitment to helping others in their worst times. The service consists of a variety of medically trained professionals such as First Responders, EMTs, and Registered Nurses. These volunteers answer calls any time of the day or night and do it with great pride.
The Community Ambulance service is always looking for more volunteers which includes drivers and medical personnel.
